Editorial policy and methodology
Certvo publishes guides on WCAG criteria, accessibility law by country, platform and industry requirements, and its own scan research. This page explains where the facts on those pages come from, how they are checked, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Who writes the guides
The guides are written and maintained by the Certvo team. Certvo is operated by Türkol Yazılım; company details are on the About page. Pages are published under the Certvo name rather than individual bylines.
Legal and regulatory pages
- Each country page names the law, its key date, the technical standard it points to and the enforcement body, and ends with a Sources list of primary references. 13 of the 28 country pages currently link a national source; every EU page also links the European Commission's page on the European Accessibility Act.
- Every source link is opened and checked before it is published. A link that cannot be loaded and matched to the document it claims to be is left off the page rather than published unverified. The last check was on 12 October 2026, and that date is printed next to each Sources list.
- The pages summarise the law for website owners and are not legal advice.
Statistics and the scan dataset
Failure rates quoted on WCAG, fix, industry and blog pages come from one source: the Certvo Web Accessibility Report 2026, built from Certvo's own scans. The current edition covers 1,569 websites scanned between 16 March 2026 and 11 October 2026, and was generated on 12 October 2026. Exclusion rules and their counts are in the dataset methodology, and the raw numbers are downloadable as JSON.
The dataset is not broken down by industry or platform. When an industry page quotes a failure rate, it is the rate across all sites in the sample, and the page says so.
The pages read these numbers from the dataset file when the site is built, and the dataset is regenerated from the scan database on every deploy, so a figure on a guide cannot drift away from the published data. Figures from other organisations must link to their original source; if you find one that does not, tell us.
The scan engine
Scans run axe-core 4.11.4 inside a real browser, with the rule sets tagged wcag2a, wcag2aa, wcag21aa, best-practice. Automated rules detect only part of WCAG, so a clean automated result is never presented as full conformance. How a scan works end to end is described on the About page, and how scores are calculated on what your score means.
How pages are updated
- A page's modified date is changed only when its content changes, never on a rebuild alone.
- Blog posts keep their original publication date and show an “Updated” date when the text is revised.
- Statistics refresh with each dataset release; sources on legal pages are re-checked when the page is revised.
Corrections
If a law, date, figure or code example on Certvo is wrong or out of date, email support@certvo.com or use the contact form with the page address and the source that shows the correct information. Confirmed corrections are made on the page and its modified date is updated.
